We did it! WE climbed the Great Wall of China (1 of 6 sections at least!). It was about one hour northwest of Beijing and it was STEEP---We hiked about one mile up and then came down. It was incredible---we only wished for less smog so the pictures would do justice to what we experienced. The wall was completed in 206 BC and 1 million Chinese people worked on it (1/5 of the population at that time). Lily tells us that it only took 10 years to build which is amazing to me. Just what we could see went on and on.
We flew into Hohhot tonight--the hotel is great and there are no internet concerns! We will meet early and head to the orphanage in the morning--I will post more soon, but right now it is midnight and I have been up since 5 am!

Greetings! I keep checking the site in anticipation of the pics of the children! :) Thanks so much for all the pics and posts. It helps us to share that much more in your journey!
