Good morning! It is sunny again, bright beautiful skies. We are packing our items for the day. Today we will make hats with the children, and have hula hoops to play with. We plan on lots of coloring. They love for us to write our names and to practice saying English. In the jungle room, we will have music and "weave" scarfs in and out of furniture. Of course, we will play outside a lot. There is a lot of testerone in this orphanage since it is mostly older boys, and outdoors is always a great place to go! For my boys, the kids have loved looking at your pictures and thank you for being generous to send them (and also Alex Eagon!). The older boys wanted to hear about my boys--their ages ,their grades. Alex and Ben, I told them you played soccer (futbol here) and they wanted to know if you played on TV....Jack, I told them you would have shin guards soon! We will also get the birthday party ready today...for in the morning.
I am excited to go back today. As we have all learned on this trip, this is not OUR mission trip. We are simply the vehicles for God's work to be done, and he shows this to us everyday by giving us new challenges. We are at his mercy, thankfully! Please read Shannon's post from today if you can. It is a beautiful realization we have had on this trip.
Love,
Eve
