SCHOOL's OUT for SUMMER!

One of my friends called me and asked what we have been up to, and why I have NOT been posting on my blog.  The last week has been CRAZY busy with end of the school year "stuff."  We have had soccer parties times three, good-bye parties for friends moving :(, family in town to meet Florie, plus the usual business....

My baby boy is SIX today!

Florie has been a trooper with all of our time at school.  She has spent hours in the school gym between all of the end of the year programs, and held in there well.  She is sleeping SO much better.  At William's suggestion, we brought out the pack n play and she has slept better since then..about 10 hours a night!  I am also limiting her naps to 2 1/2 hours a day, which has helped.  We will probably put the crib back up and just wait on the toddler bed.  She hated it.  

The boys are now 6th , 3rd, and 1st graders...gulp!  They are done with soccer until tryouts in early June.  Swim team has started, and they had their first practice tonight.  We will make plans for our summer goals tomorrow.  I am looking forward to the more relaxing pace of summer....time to take family walks and hikes, time to grill and see neighbors (hint hint) and time to just be together as a family.  We will not be traveling much this summer...go figure.  HOMEBODY is my new middle name!

My JACK turned SIX today...on the last day of school.  He requested sub sandwiches for dinner as he does not always care for my dinners (sub sandwich vs kale, rice, tofu and squash...he is crazy,  I know!).   I made his favorite cake, a chocolate mocha cake with caramel and fudge icing for his birthday cake.  It was eggless of course, so Alex could enjoy it too.  It was a simple, fun night.

Tomorrow...the first official day of summer. I am EXCITED!
