Hello from Guangzhou! We made it here yesterday after a long day of travel...Florie was having a Mommy day, so it was a bit challenging....but today we are all back in good status :) She is feeding William crackers as I type.
The are doing well. William takes them swimming every day, and they still have ROCK STAR status here. Today is a holiday in China, so there are people EVERYWHERE! The White Swan lobby is packed. We can barely walk through it. I bet we saw 5 wedding couples when we went out for lunch. Last night we went to Lucy's----it was okay. Way overpriced for what we got, in my opinion. Lindsay, if you see this, bring raincoats, small umbrellas, and shoes that will dry out quickly like crocs....FYI!
Today we had a later morning and then went to the Guangzhou park. It has a ton of bonsai trees and beautiful banyan trees that have the roots growing down. There were elderly people doing tai chi everywhere we went. We did see a few other adoptive families, but have not had a chance to speak to them yet....all of us seem to be busy adjusting to our growing family. Today we went to eat at a Thai restaurant, Cow and Bridge..it was awesome! All 6 of us enjoyed it very much. On the way home, we got a sweet treat at STARBUCKS..yummy! The boys were excited. Ben shared a sip of his Frappucino with Florie but it was way too cold for her!
Tomorrow is her medical exam, and then Tuesday morning we have her Consulate appointment at the US Consulate...so a few more official days. Wednesday we hope to go to the Safari zoo...and all three days to squeeze in a bit of shopping.... Thursday we will go to Beijing, and then FRIDAY is Ben's BIRTHDAY by the way! Not that he is counting or anything!
Florie is doing really well. She LOVES LOVES LOVES her brothers...very much! She is bonding well to me, and as well to William. Today we had him carry her in the Ergo....it helps to have her held close. She cries at naptime and bedtime, but I think some of that is missing her ayi, and some is being almost two and not wanting to go to sleep. She is pretty easily soothed with talking and singing, while holding her close. She is also a very SPUNKY girl, and can get into ANYTHING in about 5 seconds. She is very smart, and copies everything we do. She can say Moma, Baba, Ge Ge, bye bye, uh oh, and Jack already.....she does NOT like the high chair..she did not have one at her orphanage, and they scare her. So, for now, William and I walk around with dried rice and noodles all over us most days. She loves to brush her teeth, and to have her diaper changed. She constantly takes hair accessories out :) She does not want any Chinese person to hold her. She does understand Cantonese when our guide Elvin talks to her (Stefanie, is that who you had?)? I think she also understands pretty much everything I say to her....
Has anyone had trouble leaving comments? Please email me if you do. we still LOVE and appreciate the comments. Also, if anyone has a recommendation for a shop in Guangzhou, please leave a comment..we need some ideas. I recognize all the shops names from RQ, but cannot remember which ones are "good" or not!
Will try to get some pictures up soon...it was giving me a hard time earlier!
TOday is day 11 in CHina...getting better everyday :)
Miss you!
Eve

So nice to hear an update. I'm glad Florie is doing so well. Vivian didn't love the highchair in China, and would freak out if I tried to fasten the seatbelt. I thought for sure at home, she'd hate the carseat, but she never even cried once about it. And now at home, loves her high chair. As far as shopping, we bought most of our stuff at Jenny's place, I was going back to get more shoes at Sherri's which is just across the hall from Jenny's but Sherri's was closed that day. Make sure you go to a Gift from China. It is just down from Jenny's place and all money goes to help SN orphans. They had beautiful hand made items. They didn't hound us or bargain. Loved that store. Oh,and at jenny's we bought clothing, shoes, a doll etc... because we bought quite a bit, we were able to negotiate and get the shoes for only about 4 US dollars a pair. Have fun!
Hi! Just thought I'd leave a message & say I've really enjoyed reading your blog! I'm glad Florie is doing well. We are waiting for our TA to go get our 2 year old girl so I've been having fun seeing what you guys have been doing as I'm imagining us going there hopefully SOON! :) Hope the last couple days go well, also!
Eve - all is well here! Raining again. I love seeing your posts and sharing your experience through the pictures. Can't wait to see you all! Much love and prayers for safe travels and to finishing up all the red tape.

Looks like the Boger family is continuing to have some amazing experiences in China. WHat memories theses boys are making! I can only imagine what you all looked like in that crowded lobby... did the blond hair part the crowd like the red sea was parted?? So glad Florie is adjusting as well as she is. Her eyes are so bright and beautiful! I guess this is the halfway mark so hang in there... you'll be back on American soil before long!
