We went at 2:40 pm to get Florie....to another hotel. There was another little girl, about 4, being adopted too. Florie was hesitant at first, but there were a lot of play toys in the room, so we let the nanny put her on a rocking hoarse first. She took us in....staring at all of us.....and we were able to feed her Cheerios and a bottle of water. We were there about an hour....it was very slow and easy. We were able to ask all of our questions, and just have her observe us as we rubbed her back and fed her. The nannies said that she had cried when she left her favorite nanny at the orphanage this morning. When it was time to take her picture with William and me, she let me pick her up. She went to William as well. When the nannies left, she blew them kisses, but began to whimper when we walked outside to get into the van. It only lasted about 10 seconds. She does speak Cantonese instead of Mandarin, so it is really hard to say any Chinese to her. She can say no though.
At our hotel, William and the boys played with her while I did most of the paperwork. I was very grateful to do it that way rather than at the meeting place. The pictures you see with her laughing are from that time. She loved William throwing her up in the air! She loves to eat too....bananas, cheerios, the puffs (thanks Michelle!), mango juice with water, you name it. We got a plate of noodles from the lounge for her dinner, and she let me feed her, then did it herself, She is one smart cookie and figured out how to use our mixed fork and spoon that we take camping. After dinner she colored a bit on William's lap (another love!) and then we tried a bath. Again, she whimpered about 10 seconds then started playing with us. We bathed her, lotioned up (she has dry skin!), and then did a mini tooth brushing. After that, I rocked her while Jack read a book to her (he had been practicing). She fell asleep while he was reading and is now in her crib. William is getting a bit to eat while I get ready for tomorrow. The boys passsed out while we were getting Florie to sleep. :) In theory, she wakes to drink a bottle at 11 pm, so we will see what happens.
She is BEAUTIFUL. She is SMART. She SHARES. She is OBSERVANT. She loves to be TICKLED. She loves to EAT. She is PRECIOUS. She likes being tossed in the AIR. She has been well LOVED.
I assume a breakdown will come at some point, but right now, she really seems to like us okay....we are prepared for the "worst," but are happy to see her coming to us for help...with a toy, to color....she has said a few words today too.
Thank you for your prayers. we can feel them.....and appreciate them. we still have a long road ahead, but as of now, all is well, and i am off to bed soon. We have an early morning appointment!
Love,
Eve

Yay! So so so happy to see you all together. Tonight their is one less without a family. Blessings!I am so glad that it is going well. The room is the same that we were at as well. However, they rushed us and we were in and out in like twenty minutes. They told us we had to pick her up and take her within 5 minutes of Vivian coming in, because the Nannies had to leave. So glad you got to take it slow. Can't wait to hear more. I know its hard to find time to update, but loving them. Praying still!

The slow and easy part is priceless-usually it's rushed, confusing, and traumatic for everyone!
