Hi everyone!

The time has finally come!  VERY soon we will be on a plane to China to go get Florie (Florence QiuRu Boger)!   I will be posting to my blog (hopefully) from China, and would love for you all to follow along...we have a VPN set up and hope that it will work!

As most of you know, we have supported STARFISH FOSTER HOME in Xi'an China for the last 4 years.  The boys have sponsored babies there, and helped to pay for their surgeries. I visited Starfish in 2008 and serve as a volunteer pediatrician for them.  Amanda de Lange, the founder of Starfish, basically "partners" with the orphanages to rescue the most medically fragile orphans to give them a chance at life.  She brings them to her foster home, provides love, food, nurturing, and much needed medical care with the HOPE that they can be adopted.  You can read about a recently adopted little boy that Alex sponsored at www.chinesestarfish.blogspot.com

We are going to STAY at Starfish Foster Home the first two days of our trip.....so I can take a look at all of the babies, and help Amanda with any medical needs, and the boys can see UP FRONT how their prayers and money have helped these precious kids.  The boys will be posting about it on my blog.  Amanda has asked me about several supplies that she needs....primarily medicines, clothing, and they just moved into an older home that is being renovated, and have ongoing costs there.  Plus, she now has almost FIFTY babies in her care.

I am writing to you to see if you are interested in donating to Starfish......if you can, and if you are able.  I will take the donations and buy some items in the US that you can only get here, and other donations will go directly to Amanda in China to help with the babies.  You can either send a check made out to me, or if you prefer, you can go on to Starfish Foster Home at www.thestarfishfosterhome.org to make a donation online.  There is a great way to sponsor babies, and I will be taking pictures of all the kids....so if your kids want to learn about orphan care around the world, this is a great opportunity to see HOW they can make a difference in another child's life.  Please note that our adoption is paid for in full, so your donations are SOLELY for Starfish!!
