The BIG day....

It is Monday morning, April 25, almost 10 am.  We will meet our guide, Mary, in the hotel lobby at 2:40 pm to go  to meet Florie.  There are 2 other families also getting their children, but I do not know where they are from or where they are staying.  We just had a wonderful buffet breakfast.  The kids were very excited as they had a lot of "american" foods, like rice krispies and yogurt.  William and I had fresh squeezed orange juice and mango juice that were absolutely amazing.  The boys even had hot cocoa, and the manager brought them chocolate Easter bunnies.  They are saving those to share with Florie :)
Our move last night (remember the hotel room mix-up) ended up giving us access to the Executive Lounge, which is amazing! we can get cold water anytime of day, buffet foods, and drinks at night.  Can you say  WOW~!  Love it!  The kids have one room and we are in another.  The beds at the Marriott are very soft, and the shower was hot and wonderful.  We all slept well last night, and even made it until 6:20 am.  Our jet lag is passing, thankfully.  jack told me this morning that he feels better.  I cannot imagine trying to recover from some viral illness AND travelling 30 hours, suffering from jet lag and a new country to boot.  he is one Trooper!
Everyone in China has been so helpful to us...maybe because we are rock stars with 3 blonde boys, maybe not ;)  We have flown China Southern on all 3 in country flights so far, and they have gone out of their way to help us.  The hotel staff has been incredibly helpful as well.  I needed more copies of our passports and TA (Lindsay, you need 4 copies of yours and Scott's passports as well as 4 copies of your TA, and 1 passport picture of you and Scott), and they helped.  We have a paper from today to save for Florie too. I am going in a fewminutes to Walmart to buy bottles and diapers for her.  The orphanage is bringing her formula to last for 2 weeks. I do have to buy it :)
Right now I am a mix of emotions.  To say I have butterflies in my stomach is putting it mildly.  I can hardly swallow.....I am thinking about a million questions, and it is hard to focus on any one thing.  It will take several days to get to know her, and I realize that.  I just pray that my eyes will be open to all that she needs, and that  we can take each day SLOWLY just to grow to learn each other.  I am so thankful to be here.  I have been praying fervently, praising God for His work in connecting us to Florie.  He planned this day.  My Jesus Calling has read to just BE STILL.  So that is what I am going to try to do in my mind.  BE STILL...stop planning.....just listen.
I will post some more pics soon...we loaded Picasa so hopefully that will make it easier to post. I also apologize for any typos...I am not correcting them....I am on William's mini computer and it is a bit moody, often deleting what I write, so there is NO WAY I am going back!
Please pray. for today.
Blessings,
Eve

Eve,
You have been on my mind all day. I can envision it all so clearly! I know those overwhelming mix of emotions too. Rest in the knowledge that you are right where you are suppose to be. I can't wait to see Florie finally with you all! When we were blessed to meet her at the orphanage, it felt so strange to have to turn and leave her there, knowing that she was YOURS, so I'm so thankful to know soon she will forever be in your arms. Praying for you all and thinking of you constantly.

Eve, my heart is so filled with joy for you and your sweet family! Florie is absolutely precious, and I'm beyond words excited that she is finally with her family now. Praying for a restful first night together and that you are able to comfort her as she learns to accept you. (p.s. thanks for the info).

Our daughter has about three feet of blond hair so she got a lot of attention in China, too.

It is hard to stop planning, but life is so easy when you do and, as the country song says, Let Jesus Take the Wheel :-)
