A few weeks ago, my friend Lindsay drove over to meet me, Jack and Florie at our neighborhood pool. I met Lindsay right after we matched with Florie in November through a Yahoo group called Rumor Queen. We noticed on the charts that we both had daughters waiting in Guangxi province, both matched the same day, and that our girls were about the same age (about 3 months difference). When we started to email, we realized that we were both from middle Tennessee and only about an hour apart. Only God could have planned THAT all out! So, we started to talk more, and met for breakfast, met in China (they were about a week behind us on our travels), and are now keeping up. What do I love about Lindsay? I love that she LISTENS....adoption has so many ups and downs....before placement with your child there are a lot of tedious paperwork steps. Lindsay and I went through these at the same time, and it was such a relief to have her to share the stress...the waits, the fears, the joys. And that was JUST the paperwork! Now we are HOME with our girls:
Guangxi girls trying to decide what they want to eat
Having some fun LAUGHING
Yes, we are CUTE!
and have still shared the highs and the lows...all the things that make the paperwork look so "easy!" Bringing toddlers home to houses with all boys has been really fun and really hard. The early on sleep deprivation, the concerns about speech, and bonding, and attaching...not just for our daughters, but from us, our boys, and our husbands...we have walked through it at the same time. What a blessing! These two little ones from so far away have brought together more than they know :)
A little cold out here!
Starting to talk
No, Florie, Rowan does not want a cracker
Wait, what is this?
Oooh, fruit!
Yummy!
Sharing
Who doesn't love Tennessee fruit?
FRIENDS.
FRIENDSHIP. An amazing gift! I hope to keep these two little ones together enough so they can know growing up someone who "came from where they did." Same province. Same country. And, I have learned how important it is to have someone to CONFIDE in...to be able to tell the good, the bad, and the ugly, and they get it. For that, I am so thankful for Lindsay, Rowan, and the rest of their sweet family!
Love,
Eve

Thank you, dear friend. Thank God and thank our girls for bringing us together. I couldn't imagine having gone through all this without you to listen and understand and share these experiences, all the ups and downs and joys and heartache. We (and our girls) have a special bond. I hope we (and they) are still talking and laughing and sharing for many, many years to come.
These are wonderful photos of the two of them together. How lucky you are to have found one another.
